Tax Deadline Reminder
Greetings from the Seth & Alexander Team,
Reminder from the IRS:
The October 15th deadline is quickly approaching for taxpayers who requested an extension to file their 2020 tax returns. Individuals who requested the extension should file before or on this date in order to avoid any late penalties.
Some individuals may have more time:
Members of the military, or other individuals serving in a combat zone, have 180 days after they leave the combat area to file any taxes or returns due. Additionally, taxpayers who are in federally declared disagree areas may have some alternative extensions. (To get further details about disaster area extensions, please see the disaster relief page on IRS.gov)
What if I am due a refund?
Normally, there is not a penalty for not filing if the taxpayer is due a refund. However, taxpayers who file after the deadline risk losing their refund all together.
